"N’guê di Omali" (significa Gente do Mar no dialecto local) é um boletim anual, infantil e informativo que o Programa Tatô distribu nas escolas das comunidades-alvo do litoral de São Tomé.
O primeiro volume foi distribuido por cerca de 5200 crianças no ano lectivo de 2020/2021, onde demos a conhecer as espécies de tartarugas marinhas que ocorrem em São Tomé e Príncipe. Este ano, o segundo volume é dedicado ao papel fundamental que as tartarugas marinhas desempenham no equilíbrio dos ecossistemas marinhos.
Adicionalmente, iniciámos as visitas de estudo das escolas das comunidades costeiras ao Museu do Mar e da Pesca Artesanal em Morro Peixe. Acreditamos que ao proporcionarmos este tipo de experiência ditdactica, fora da sala de aula, estamos a assegurar a formação de uma geração ambientalmente mais consciente e capaz de passar a mensagens a outros, inclusive aos seus próprios pais.
"N’guê di Omali" (People From The Sea in local dialect) is a bulletin annually distributed by Programa Tatô in the schools of the target communities of the coast of São Tomé.
The first volume was distributed among around 5200 kids in the academic year of 2020/2021, in which we present the sea turtle species occuring in the country. This year, the second volume is dedicated to the fundamental role that sea turtles play in the balance of marine ecosystems.
Additionally, we just began the field trips with the schools from the main coastal communities of São Tomé to the Museum of the Sea and Artisanal Fisheries in Morro Peixe. We believe that by providing this type of dictatic experience, outside the classroom, we are ensuring the training of a more environmentally conscious generation, able of spreading the conservation message to others, including their own parents.
