No âmbito da Protocolo de Cooperação entre a Polícia Nacional de STP e a Associação Programa Tatô, realizou-se a formação teórico-prática “Proteção e Conservação de Tartarugas Marinhas em STP” de 11 a 22 de Outubro. 20 agentes policiais dos 6 distritos da ilha foram capacitados nas áreas de Biologia e Ecologia das Tartarugas Marinhas, gestão de conflitos e medidas de fiscalização no âmbito do decreto-lei n. 06/2014 que protege as tartarugas.
O balanço não poderia ser mais positivo! Reforçamos mais uma vez a importância de unirmos esforços na luta pela preservação destas espécies ameaçadas de extinção e que fazem parte do património natural de valor incalculável de STP!
Within the scope of the Protocol of Cooperation between the National Police of STP and the Programa Tatô Association, the theoretical and practical training “Protection and Conservation of Sea Turtles in STP” was held from the 11th to the 22nd of October. 20 police officers from the 6 districts of São Tomé island were trained in the fields of Sea Turtle Biology and Ecology, conflict management, and law enforcement measures under the Decree-Law n. 06/2014 that protect sea turtles.
The balance could not be more positive! We would like to reinforce the importance of joining efforts in the fight for the preservation of these endangered species that are part of the STP's invaluable natural heritage!
